Graphictac's solution for textured exterior wall surfaces such as brick or plastered is RoughGrip, using a conformable polymeric film, suitable for moderately textured exterior wall surfaces such brick or plastered. To achieve the desired result, we recommend you to prepare in advance a set of suitable cleaning brush and application rollers depending on the texture and corrugations of the substrate surface.
Installing steps
- The wall needs to be properly cleaned prior to application, water, high pressure water cleaning devices or special fluid may be used depending on the surface condition, and it must be allowed to dry thoroughly for minimum 24hours before graphic is applied.
- We recommend to use a brush immediately before application to remove all dirt or other contaminants on the wall that may have been collected during the drying time.
- Test a small piece of vinyl on the substrate surface to check if proper cleanliness has been achieved.
- Mark the placement of the graphic by using masking tape before starting the installation. Then using both hands to pull off the liner slowly, pls. exercise care not to stretch the film, pulling off the liner a few centimeter at a time, fix it at one corner of the application, the liner should be removed as close to the surface as possible for ease of application.
- Once the graphic is fixated, pull off the remaining of the liner and place the graphic in its final position by applying light pressure with hand or squeegee on the overall surface.
- Followed by applying pressure using a roller to ensure a strong bond to the surface. For corrugated surfaces, using a heat gun at temperature up to 130°C with medium air flow setting to soften the film, and take a small roller to push the film into the textured surfaces.
- Final step is re-heating and apply roller on the outer edge of the graphic to ensure proper seal of the edges. In the case of multi panel installation, apply an overlap of at least 15mm.
Graphic removal from wall
For removal of the graphic vinyl, put a heat gun to medium~ high heat for best possible results, the heat will soften the adhesive, making it easier to peel off the vinyl, removing it slowly by starting at the top of the graphic and pull it from the wall at a 120~180° degree angle, and re-apply heat if required.
